The name 'Jophiel' means 'beauty of God'.

Archangel Jophiel is the angel of beautiful thoughts, poetry, creative wisdom, understanding and judgement.

Jophiel is the patron of the arts and crafts, artistic and spiritual illumination and all creative pursuits.

He provides clarity and understanding into the meaning and beauty of life, and creates insights as to our life purpose, encouraging positive thoughts and calm energy.

He is also the angel of homemaking and food, and thereby supports all kitchen gardens, vegetable patches, herb gardens and allotments, food preparation, food preservation and cooking.

He is tasked with the responsibility for the silent majority, in their campaigning and also assisting in the art of persuasion. He can shift perspective and use wisdom to help people see things from a different point of view and he will bring organisation to chaotic situations. He can change an outlook by helping us focus on the beauty that is already there, as yet unseen or unnoticed.

He can clear an overwhelmed mind to provide clarity of thought and can provide an awareness of abilities as yet unknown within us as individuals. He will assist those who are stuck in a rut of listlessness, boredom or depression, helping reignite our life's spark.

He is said to move at the speed of our thoughts, with a flight of high vibrational energy. His peaceful mind brings us serenity in our thoughts, enabling us to organise our work and home space to create a flow of calm energy and beauty to surround us.

His obligations are varied, including helping in matters of fashion, flowers and fragrances. He will always encourage us to present ourselves in our true authentic self, and not as someone else when choosing our appearance through make-up, skin and hair care, enabling us to be rightly perceived by others for who we really are. He will help us see the beauty in life and in ourselves. 

Other variations include his support of hikers, gardeners and musicians, being responsible for the great outdoors and the joy of music.

Among his many varied roles, he also assist in all forms of writing, journaling and blogging, encouraging truth and diversity, creativity and honesty in the written word. He supports artists and photographers through divine inspiration to guide artwork towards completion.

He is depicted as being very tall, wearing a yellow cloak and carrying the flaming sword of wisdom that frees us and enables freewill. He will have a ray of golden yellow light surrounding him often referred to as Jophiel's sunshine ray, which will bring forth joy, happiness and creative wisdom.
