The name 'Michael' means 'he who is as God' or 'like unto God'.
Archangel Michael is the highest angel of protection and the leader and most powerful of all the angels. He is said to sit with the seraphim nearest to God and his powers are derived from the will of God.
He is often depicted as muscular and athletic, with intense facial expressions and powerful body language. He wears armour and holds his sword of sapphire, emblazoned by a blue flame, poised over a pinned down demon, symbolising his purpose of slaying ego and fear, through courage, strength and protection. Sometimes he is depicted as carrying the scales of justice.
Archangel Michael is a protector of humans and their belongings. As the warrior of heaven, he will fight for truth and what is right for you. He works continuously, fighting the forces of darkness to bring peace and harmony to all.
He is the protector of the innocent through miraculous intervention and offers his courage, power and strength for all who ask, defending and bringing forth integrity, truth and love.
He protects humans from real and imaginary fears, helping us achieve our ambitions and goals. He will assist us in working through darkness into light, and in releasing fear with courage and bravery.
He can fix broken emotions, such as hearts and relationships, releasing fear and doubt, invoking clarity of thought and providing support in making life changes.
He is considered to be the angel of justice, righteousness and mercy, upholding the law and law making, and supports personal leadership and life purpose aspirations.
As the warrior, he supports all military troops and fighters who are just and in the right. He is also concerned with socio politics and the work of the common man.
He can help with lack of motivation and incentive and brings patience and perseverance. He shields us from negative energy when we are trying to cope with troubles or challenges.
