Angels classed within the second sphere of the hierarchy are the administers of creation. They are heavenly governors guiding and ruling the lower angels and subjecting matter to God’s will.
Dominions (Dominations), also known as Lordships and Kuoriotes
The dominion angels regulate the duties of the lower angels, keep them in line, and ensure that God’s wishes communicated to them from the first sphere are carried out.
They are considered to resemble beautiful humans. They have one pair of magnificent wings and carry an orb of bright light on the head of their sceptre or the pommel of their sword.
The dominion angels are considered to be free and serve God voluntarily and unceasingly, with joy.
Very rarely, dominions reveal themselves to humans.
Virtues, also known as Strongholds
The virtue angels are the angels of grace and the source of virtue. There is an abundance of virtue for all and it flows from the virtue angels to angels below on the hierarchy and to humans below them.
These angels carry out God’s blessings to the Earth in the form of miracles and heavenly signs, such as healing sickness and foretelling the future.
They are often referred to as the ‘brilliant’ or ‘shining’ ones and are virile and unshakeable in doing God’s will. They are the hardest workers of all the angels.
The virtue angels are also tasked with maintaining the physical laws of the universe, according to the will of God.
Powers, also known as Authorities
The power angels are the warriors of the angelic realm. They are the bearers of consciousness and oppose evil, and they are the keepers of history and time.
They appear as soldiers wearing armour, and carry shields, spears and chains used to restrain the power of the devil and evil spirits and demons for eternity. As such, they are tasked with preventing the fallen angels from causing harm.
They maintain the creative energy flowing within the universe and the cosmos, keeping them in predictable balance.
