Runes

Image
Runes What are Runes? It is thought the word ‘rune’ is derived from the Proto-Germanic word ‘rūnō’, which means ‘letter’, ‘literature’ and ‘secret’ and also from the Germanic word ‘run’ and the Gothic ‘runa’, meaning ‘secret’ and ‘whisper’. (Koch 2020). Runes are defined as sets of symbols that make up alphabets, used initially by Germanic people of the Viking Age of central and northern Europe, probably inspired by the Latin alphabet of the Romans, to communicate in a written form. Runology is the study of runes and their history. As well as a form of communication, each individual runic symbol is said to hold an inherent powerful magical nature and hence they have also been used for magic and divination, and examples are found over 2000 years of history regarding this type of use. The earliest references to runic inscriptions appear from the end of the 1st century AD, and their use continued until Latin began to take over from the 11th century AD onwards due to Christianisation....

Auras and Aura Colours

Image
Auras and Aura Colours Auras are the strongest visual concept in the spirit world that you can tap into. They surround all living things and will linger in angels when they are near. An aura is an energy field that surrounds and encompasses every being. It can be any colour, it can have more than one colour, and it’s colour can change and vary. It can also be bright or dull, shiny or flat. It is an energy that we radiate, a vibe. “An aura is your life force energy field around you. I see it in colour. We all have our own inherent combination. It’s like a snowflake.” – Mystic Michaela, aura reader. These auras may appear layered, or splotchy like, and each colour holds a specific representation. You will have one or two inherent colours that are specific to you and your inner soul, and these colours maybe be altered or affected by your emotional or physical state. (Estrada, 2018) Aura Colour Meanings The aura around each person will have at least one colour, and will be prone to al...

The Buck Moon

Image
The Buck Moon is the traditional name given to the full moon in the month of July. This name comes from Native American and Colonial American traditions, which often named each full moon based on seasonal changes in nature. The "Buck Moon" refers specifically to the time of year when the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full growth mode, covered in velvety fur as they regenerate. It is a time that symbolizes strength, renewal, and natural cycles of growth. Spiritually, the Buck Moon carries deep meaning. It is a lunar phase associated with the themes of transformation, maturation, and the embodiment of inner power. Just as the buck grows its antlers to maturity during this time, the Buck Moon invites us to consider how we are developing our own sense of strength, identity, and purpose. This moon is often viewed as a time of rising energy. The spiritual qualities of the Buck Moon encourage reflection on how we are stepping into our personal power and how we are taking res...

Angel Signs

Image
Angel Signs Feathers If you see a feather in an unusual place, or it floats down to you unexpectedly, then an angel is letting you know of their presence. It may be any size, shape or colour, and it may be in response to your request for assistance, or simply to reassure or comfort you during a difficult time. A white feather will arrive at a time when you are most in need, to let you know you are not alone. Rainbows Rainbows have well known scientific explanations. But have you ever stared at a rainbow and still felt the magic? Maybe it’s shape does not look quite right, or it has occurred without rain, or it has happened at a time soon after you have asked for a sign to reassure or reaffirm some situation in your life. It may be a double rainbow or a rainbow orb or halo around an object. The angels are using this phenomenon to guide you. Bells If you can hear a bell ring, even the slightest tinkle or chirp of a bell, and there is no apparent reason for a bell to ring, then an an...

The Dark Moon Magick

Image
The dark moon is a lesser-known yet deeply significant phase of the lunar cycle. It refers to the final stage of the waning moon, just before the new moon occurs. Unlike the new moon, which is the official astronomical beginning of the lunar cycle, the dark moon is the period of complete lunar invisibility—a time when the moon is no longer visible in the night sky and has released the last of its light. Spiritually and symbolically, the dark moon is often distinguished from the new moon because of its unique energetic signature. While the new moon is about planting seeds and starting anew, the dark moon is the liminal space between death and rebirth , a sacred pause between cycles. What Is the Dark Moon? Astronomically, the dark moon generally lasts about one to three days, ending with the moment of the exact new moon conjunction (when the moon and sun align). It is a time of stillness , emptiness , and transition . Unlike the visible waxing or waning phases, there is nothing to se...
